Celebrate Recovery - We extend an open invitation to those struggling with addictions or dysfunctions to join us on Thursday evenings at 7:00 p.m. in the Rehearsal Room.
United Way “Day of Caring” - Is Wednesday, September 15. On this day, teams of volunteers work on a variety of projects for local non-profit agencies and/or the residents of our community that they serve. We are asking YOU to help by volunteering your time and energy. If you are
interested in being a part of a team to help, please sign up at the Information Center. You will be contacted with further details.
Chaplaincy Training - Will take place at the All Nations Church of God in Wytheville, VA from September 22 - 25. Registration forms are now available at the Information Center. The cost for
individuals is $250.00 and for married couples $350.00. Manuals and materials are an additional $40.00. If you would like more information, email ancog@embarqmail.com or call 276-228-5981.
Thank You - For all the donations of school supplies that were brought in! You have made a difference in many children's lives as they begin this school year.
Save the Date! - Saturday, October 2 from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. will be our annual Health Fair in the Family Life Center. This year it will be combined with a Red Cross blood drive. Please sign up at the Information Center if you are able to help.
Local Food Pantry - We would like to thank all the volunteers who help the 3rd Thursday of the month with our food pantry service held here at the church at 1:00 p.m. We are blessed to have a
wonderful group of people help us to reach those in need. May you be blessed for your servant hearts.

Children’s Upcoming Events - Mark your calendars for all our children's events. Parents and grandparents are encouraged to pick up an “Upcoming Events” brochure at the Information Center.
Mom’s Day Out – Hey moms! Take a break! Bring your little ones here for a few hours on Thursday, September 9 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This is for children 8 months - 4 years old. Space is limited so you must sign up in advance at the Information Center.
Kids Church Challenge - Parents, the kids are challenged to read 1 John in the month of September. Any questions, feel free to email Pastor Jeremy for assistance.

Labor Day Observance - The church office will be closed tomorrow, September 6. Should you have an emergency, please call (540) 667-8017 and press 3 when prompted to be connected to the on-call pastor.
Singles’ Ministry - Our Fall Kickoff will take place on Friday, September 10 at 6:30 p.m. in Dingess Hall. This will be a potluck dinner so everyone is asked to bring a dish to share. All single adults are invited to attend. For more information, contact Robert Cole at 540-514-8981.
Fellowship Dinner - We invite everyone to join us on Saturday, September 11 at 6:00 p.m. in the Family Life Center for a potluck dinner. Drinks will be provided. Families are asked to bring a meat, vegetable, salad, or dessert to share. As it is Patriot Day, there will be prayer as we remember the victims of the 9/11 attacks. Pastor Waller will then be introducing some of our upcoming fall events/programs. We will also partake of communion. We can’t wait to fellowship with you!
Concert - Come enjoy a wonderful evening of worship with The Browders on
Sunday, September 12 at 6:00 p.m. Their song, “Message of the Cross,” just went #1! Check out their website at www.thebrowders.com. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. There is no admission; a love offering will be received.
“One Month to Live” - Please visit our table in the foyer today! Our church will be engaged in this study, written by Kerry and Chris Shook, the weeks of September 12 through October 17. Pastor Waller will be preaching a message based on the book on Sundays, and during the week small groups will be meeting to watch a DVD and have discussion on this topic. You may sign up for the group of your choice. Small group study guides are $8 each. The hardback book is $14.
Leadership Meeting - All church leaders, please mark your calendar for Sunday, September 26 at 6:00 p.m. for a dinner and meeting in Dingess Hall. All leaders in the church are asked to attend as we discuss vision, mission, and some practical training in preparation for the 2011 calendar and budget. Childcare will be provided. More information will be mailed to you soon. Please add this to your calendar today and commit to attending.

WE NEED YOUR HELP! - The Revolution Youth are putting together a “Church Family” cookbook to raise funds for the ministry. We are asking those who are
making something for the Potluck Dinner to be held on September 11 to also include the recipe for that dish. If you have additional recipes you would like to share, please bring them to the Potluck Dinner or you may drop them off in the office at any time.
PARENTS – Want to know what the youth are planning? Handouts will be available at the
Information Center to keep you updated on the Youth Ministry activities.
